| Full-Screen Visualization Problems with Multiple Monitors SUMMARY: A workaround in case your Windows Media Player 10 visualizations cause problems on multi-monitor systems.
If you are using multiple monitors, depending on your video card, a box may appear on one of your monitors whenever visualizations are displayed. This can be somewhat fixed for certain visualizations by modifying the display size of the visualization to match your main monitor's resolution. However, information on the second monitor may still be displayed, though the colors may change as the visualizations colors change.
1. From Windows Media Player 10, press CONTROL-1 to go to "Full Mode".
2. Press CONTROL-M to show the menu bar.
3. Choose "View" - "Visualizations" - "Options".
4. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select a visualization.
5. If the "Properties" button is enabled, click it. Unless Windows Media Player 10 notifies you that it cannot set properties for this visualization, a "Properties" dialog box should appear.
6. Underneath "Screen size", select the screen size that matches your current monitor resolution.
7. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close.
8. Choose "View" - "Visualizations" and select the Visualization category you previously edited.
9. Play an audio file, click "CONTROL-2" to go to skin mode, then ALT-ENTER to go to full-screen mode.
Two notes:
1) If the color change on the second monitor is annoying, you may wish to turn off wallpaper and not display other programs on your second monitor whenever you wish to display visualizations in full-screen.
2) By increasing the visualization's resolution, you also increase the CPU time needed to generate and display visualizations. If you are running a slower computer, the visualization may skip, or in extreme cases, your computer could hang.
