Windows Vista - Windows Sidebar

Close a Sidebar Gadget

SUMMARY: Clear a Sidebar gadget from your Windows XP desktop or Windows Sidebar

Added a gadget to your Windows Vista Desktop or Windows Sidebar and you later want to remove it from the screen?

1. Move your mouse pointer on top of the Sidebar gadget you wish to configure.

2. On the top-right corner of the gadget, or a little to the right of the gadget, you should see three icons appear. Click the top icon (the "X") to remove the gadget.

OR:

3. Right-click the gadget and choose "Close Gadget".

Note that removing gadgets only removes them from the Sidebar or Desktop. The gadget is still installed on your system, so you can still re-add the gadget from your local Gadget Gallery.
