Windows XP and Fonts - Access the Fonts Control Panel

SUMMARY: Display which fonts are installed on your Windows XP system.

Do you commonly use multiple fonts when using your word processor or graphics design software? Want to see which fonts are on your system, get previews of fonts, and see which fonts you can remove?

To access your Windows XP Fonts Control Panel, do one of the following:

1) Click "Start", selecting "Control Panel".

2) The "Control Panel" dialog box should appear. If an option "Switch to Classic View" appears in the left pane, click it.

3) Double-click "Fonts" to open the "Fonts" Control Panel.

OR:

1) Click "Start", selecting "Run".

2) Type in the following: %windir%\fonts and press ENTER to open the "Fonts" Control Panel.

You'll see a list of all the standard and TrueType fonts installed on your system. If you are using other fonts managed by outside utilities, they may not be displayed here, so refer to the utility font manager to preview and manage such fonts.
