Windows XP and Fonts

Install Fonts

SUMMARY: Install downloaded or purchased fonts on your Windows XP system.

Want more fonts available as you write documents on your Windows XP system? You can download fonts from a variety of websites and then install them in one of the following ways:

1) Access your Windows XP Fonts Control Panel.

2) When the "Fonts" window appears, select "Install New Font" from the "File" menu.

3) An "Add Fonts" dialog box will appear. Navigate your hard drive to find the folder containing your downloaded or purchased font files.

4) Select your desired fonts.

5) Click "OK" to close the "Add Fonts" dialog box.

OR:

1) Access your Windows XP Fonts Control Panel.

2) Open another Explorer window to the folder containing your downloaded or purchased font files.

3) Drag and drop the files to your "Fonts" window.

Caveats: On some systems, the Install New Fonts option is missing. Or, dragging and dropping fonts does not install them.
