Windows XP and WordPad - Add Copyright and Trademark Characters

SUMMARY: Add intellectual property-related characters to your WordPad documents in Windows XP.

Need to add copyright or trademark characters to your WordPad document? Hold down the ALT key, press the following numbers on your numeric keypad, and then release the ALT key:

* Copyright symbol: 0169
* Restricted trademark symbol: 0174
* Trademark symbol: 8482

Note that some of these symbols may not work in all fonts. The trademark symbol, in particular, can only be used in Unicode fonts such as Arial. You may need to switch your font to Arial by selecting it from the font pull-down before typing in these codes.
