SUMMARY: Download and install TweakMP to modify Windows Media Player settings.
Just as Windows has a Tweak UI tool to modify previously hard-to-access settings, Windows Media Player 9 has a TweakMP tool. This tool lets you modify many Windows Media Player 9 settings, including Media Library double-click options, the speed to show full-screen controls, how long it takes for the mouse pointer and full-screen controls to hide whenever the full-screen controls are accessed, and more.
Unfortunately, TweakMP will only run on machines running Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server.
An easy way to download TweakMP is to do the following:
1. Open Windows Media Player 9.
2. Select "Tools", "Plug-Ins", then "Download Plug-Ins"
3. When the "Windows Media Player 9 Series" web page appears, scroll down to "Powertoys and Utilities".
4. Click the link "TweakMP Powertoy Plug-in for Windows Media Player 9".
5. Choose "Open" when the dialog box appears.
6. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Once TweakMP is installed, you can access the tool by selecting "Tools", "Plug-ins", then "TweakMP".
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Windows Media Player 9 - Download TweakMP
