Download New Visualizations

SUMMARY: Download new visualizations that display when media files are played with Windows Media Player.

Note that this tip is for downloading new visualizations for Windows Media Player 9. If you are using Windows Media Player 10, we have tips at this link: Windows Media Player 10 Visuazliations Help and Tips.

If you don't like the default Windows Media Player 9 visualizations, you can download several more free ones on the Internet (if you don't know what visualizations are, refer to the other Windows Media Player 9 tips on MalekTips.Com).

To download new visualizations:

1. From Windows Media Player 9, choose "Visualizations" then "Download Visualizations".
2. A web browser will open with several choices and a list of other sites that offer visualizations. Note that some visualizations will only run on Windows XP or later.
3. Select your desired visualization. This may involve downloading a file, or first visiting a webpage then downloading a file. After downloading a file, you may need to follow on-screen prompts if a setup program appears.

Once you have downloaded and installed a visualization, simply select it from Windows Media Player in the "View" -> "Visualizations" menu. Open a media file, switch to skin mode (CONTROL-2), and enjoy!

Return to the Windows Media Player 9 page.
