Windows Media Player 9

Listen to the Radio

SUMMARY: Listen to Internet radio stations worldwide with Windows Media Player.Bookmark and Share

With Windows Media Player 9, you have access to many streaming Internet radio stations you can listen to for free. Note that it is recommended to have a broadband Internet connection to reduce the chances of re-buffering while songs are played.

1. Open Windows Media Player 9.
2. Select the full controls by pressing CONTROL-1.
3. Select "Radio Tuner" from the menu on the left side of the software. If this is not visible, on the left side of the software, there should be an arrow pointing left. Click it.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to choose a radio station to play.

Note that when you choose a radio station, more than likely its website will appear in a web browser window. This will usually include advertisements. Also, some radio stations may require registration in order to play music.

If no radio stations appear, you may need to add the domain "windowsmedia.com" to your trusted sites. If you understand the security risks of adding sites to your trusted sites and choose to do this, here are the instructions:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose "Tools" the "Internet Options".
3. When the "Internet Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select "Security".
4. Select "Trusted Sites".
5. Click the "Sites" button.
6. When the "Trusted Sites" dialog box appears, enter "*.windowsmedia.com" in the textbox.
7. Click "Add".
8. Click "OK" to close the dialog boxes.
