WinZip 10.x - Virus Scan Zipped Folders

SUMMARY: Let WinZip use different virus scanners when examining compressed filesBookmark and Share

Need to scan a ZIP file for viruses? You can do this from within WinZip. Open the ZIP file and select "Actions" - "Virus Scan" or press SHIFT+S.

If this does not automatically work, you will need to tell WinZip the location of your scanner. You can perform this configuration either by answering "Yes" when the dialog appears asking you to configure your virus scanner, or later by selecting "Options" - "Configuration" and selecting the "Program Locations" tab on the dialog box that follows.

Underneath "Optional virus scanner Scan program", click on the pulldown. If the command to your virus scanner is available, select it. If not, click on the button next to the pulldown that looks like a folder and navigate your computer to find your virus scanner.

When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note that some virus scanners will require parameters to work correctly with WinZip. If your virus scanner does not work with WinZip, check your virus scanner's documentation for details, or contact WinZip technical support (support@winzip.com).
