WinZip - WinZip 10.x - Where Did I Drag the Files?

SUMMARY: Repair an accidental drag-and-drop when you use WinZip.

WinZip supports drag-and-drop file uncompressing. This means you can drag the contents of a ZIP file to a folder and have WinZip automatically uncompress the selected ZIP file's contents to said folder. While this is a handy feature, an accidental slip of the mouse or a stray finger on a laptop's track pad may uncompress the files to never-never land.

If this has happened to you and you have no idea where you accidentally placed a ZIP file's contents, as soon as you realize the mistake, click the "View" menu in WinZip, then "Last Output". A dialog box will appear, and in the above situation, the first line should say "Extracting to" followed by the name of the directory now containing the ZIP file contents. Now, you can use Explorer to delete these files or move them to a more proper location, if desired.
