WinZip 10.x - Rename Your Downloaded Zip Files
SUMMARY: Give more meaningful names to zip archives you download over the Internet.
Many ZIP files downloaded over the Internet have short, unrecognizable names. Or, they may refer to software packages whose names you recognize now but may forget a month later.
Once you open a ZIP file from WinZip's Classic interface, even if you decide not to uncompress its contents now, go ahead and rename the file to something more meaningful. You can do this by selecting "File" - "Manage Archive" - "Move" or pressing SHIFT+R. Give the ZIP file a longer name, perhaps one that explains its contents, and then press "OK".
You'll thank yourself later when you have a huge directory of downloadable ZIP files and actually can tell what is in each file!
