WinZip - WinZip 10.x - Change the Temp Folder

Normally, WinZip uses your operating system or account's default temporary folder when manipulating files. For example, on Windows XP, this directory may be:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\

Replace USERNAME with your login username.

However, there may be circumstances where you wish to use a different temporary folder, perhaps one on a different drive. This is especially important if your C: drive is nearly full yet you have another data partition or hard drive with much more room to spare.

1. Open WinZip, choosing "Options" then "Configuration".

2. When the multi-tabbed dialog box "Configuration" appears, click the "Folders" tab.

3. Underneath "Temp Folder", type in the name of your desired temp folder or click the nearby folder icon to browse your computer for a folder.

4. Do the same for "Working folder".

5. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to WinZip - WinZip 10.x - Change the Temp Folder
