Opening a ZIP file in WinZip that contains dozens, perhaps hundreds, of files? Perhaps you don't want to uncompress all of the files in the archive but just those matching a particular filename or file extension. For example, maybe you only want to select all bitmap (BMP) files for extraction,.

1. Open an archive in WinZip.

2. Choose "Actions" - "Select Files".

3. A "Select Files" dialog box will appear. Enter in a full or partial filename, or just a file extension, that you want to match.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

All matching files in the current archive will be selected. If you want to uncompress just the selected files, click the "Extract" button.
