WinZip 12.x - Beep When a Long Extraction or Other Action is Over

SUMMARY: Have WinZip play an audible alert whenever it finishes processing a large file or group of files.

Uncompressing a LARGE group of files in a ZIP archive with WinZip? Or, perhaps you're creating an archive with hundreds of individual files.

Operations involving large numbers of files can take time, especially on a slower machine such as a netbook. Unless you're the type of person that loves to stare at downloading progress and operation completion dialogs, you might wish to leave your computer while it is performing the task. With this following tweak you can have WinZip beep whenever it completes a task that takes a long time to perform.

1. From the Classic interface, choose "Options" - "Configuration".

2. When the "Configuration" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Miscellaneous" tab.

3. Underneath "Other", check "Beep after long archive operations".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Return to the WinZip page.
