Use PowerToys Calculator to Convert Measurements

SUMMARY: Convert length, mass, time, velocity, and temperature with the Windows XP Powertoy Calculator.

Need a tool to convert measurement, such as inches to feet, Celsius to Fahrenheit, or ounces to grams? If so, the Windows XP Powertoys Calculator may be of assistance. This free tool can perform many types of conversions:

* Length: Inches, Feet, Miles, Yards, Millimeters, Centimeters, Meters, Kilometers

* Mass: Pounds, Ounces, Grams, Kilograms

* Time: Days, Minutes, Seconds

* Velocity: Miles per Hour, Feet per Second, Feet per Hour, Kilometers per Hour, Knots

* Temperature: Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin

1. Download and run the Windows XP Powertoy Calculator from the Microsoft Windows XP Powertoys website.

2. Click on the "Conversions" menu.

3. Choose your conversion type - length, mass, time, velocity, or temperature.

4. Choose the conversion 'from' then conversion 'to' type. For example, if you want to convert 32 degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius, select "Temperature", "Fahrenheit", and then "Celsius".

5. Look at the "Input" entry area. A popup dialog states that Windows XP added a conversion equation. Enter in the value to be converted, then press ENTER. For the above example, enter "32" then ENTER.

6. Look at the history window. You'll see the results of the last equation, which is in this case, 0.
