Windows XP Taskbar - Toolbar - Start Menu

Remove Printers and Faxes Option from the Start Menu

SUMMARY: If you don't frequently use or change fax machines or printers, clean up your Windows XP Start Menu.Bookmark and Share

If you do not regularly print or fax documents from your Windows XP machine, or if you only use one printer and do not need access to its properties from the Start menu, you can remove the "Printers and Faxes" menu option.

1. Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, choosing "Properties".

2. When the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "Start Menu" tab.

3. Click the "Customize" button.

4. The "Customize Start Menu" multi-tabbed dialog box should appear. Select the "Advanced" tab.

5. Underneath "Start menu items", uncheck "Printers and Faxes".

6. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.
