Windows XP Taskbar - Toolbar - Start Menu - Create a Toolbar to Access the Control Panel

SUMMARY: Add a Windows XP dockable toolbar providing instant access to Control Panel options.

Frequently modify Windows XP settings via the Control Panel? Would you like to have easier access to all of the available options, such as:

* Folder Options
* Internet Options
* Power Options
* Sounds and Audio Devices

You can create a toolbar on the side or top of your screen to quickly access Windows XP's Control Panel items.

1. Click the "Start" button.

2. Click and hold on the "Control Panel" icon and drag it to the side or top of your screen. Presto! A new toolbar is created. If you want to change how it looks:

1. Remove the text "Control Panel" by right-clicking on the toolbar and unchecking "View Title".

2. Force the toolbar to always appear on top of other windows by right-clicking the toolbar and checking "Always on top".

3. Or, only show the toolbar when you move your mouse to its edge of the screen. Right-click the toolbar and check "Auto-Hide".

4. To remove the "Control Panel" toolbar, right-click it and choose "Toolbars", then uncheck "Control Panel".
