Windows Taskbar Disappears Sometimes When Programs Are Maximized

SUMMARY: Two tips to follow if Windows XP's Taskbar disappears whenever software is maximized to full-screen.

Does your Windows XP Taskbar sometimes disappear when you maximize software? Here are two possible fixes:

1. Perform tip Toggle the Taskbar on Top of Other Windows, making sure you check "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows".

2. If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2, there is a hotfix available from Microsoft that may help. For more information on obtaining this hotfix, view Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 884539.
