Change Your Password

SUMMARY: A quick how-to on changing Windows XP account passwords.


 

Need to change the password you use to login your Windows XP account?

1. Click the "Start" menu.

2. Select "Control Panel".

3. When the Control Panel appears, select "User Accounts".

4. When the "User Accounts" window appears, underneath "Or pick an account to change", click your account name.

5. Click "Change my password".

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to type in your current and new passwords. You must type your new password twice. Optionally, you can enter a hint for Windows XP to display in case you forget your password.
