Windows XP and Account Management

Lock your Computer

SUMMARY: Lock your Windows XP computer to keep it from prying eyes or fingers.

If your Windows XP account is password protected, it is easy to lock down your machine temporarily while you are away. Just hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press "L". You'll be taken to the Welcome screen where you will need to enter your password to re-access your machine. This is great in office situations where you need to step away for a minute for a meeting, to get some coffee, to fax a document, etc.
