SUMMARY: For diagnostic purposes, allow Explorer in Windows XP to display internal folders marked 'System'.
Depending on your needs, you may have configured Windows XP to Show Protected Operating System Files and Hidden Folders. If you further need to view all files on your computer, you may also wish to show system folders. This will allow you to browse and manage files inside folder such as your Windows, Program Files, and Documents and Settings folders.
1. Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop.
2. Select "Tools" - "Folder Options".
3. When the "Folder Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab.
4. Check "Display the contents of system folders".
5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
