Windows XP and Explorer - Display Full Paths in the Address Bar

SUMMARY: Differentiate folders with similar names by displaying full paths in Windows XP Explorer window address bars.

Explorer windows in Windows XP can be configured to display the entire folder paths in the title bars. This may make it easier to navigate folders on large systems that may have similarly-named folders inside different parent directories, or on systems using multiple levels of subfolders.

If desired, you can also display the full folder path inside the Explorer windows address bars.

1. Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop.

2. Select "Tools" - "Folder Options".

3. When the "Folder Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab.

4. Check "Display the full path in the address bar".

5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
