Windows XP and the Mouse - Allow More Time for Double-Clicks

SUMMARY: Let Windows XP give you more time to double-click your mouse.

Do you frequently have trouble double-clicking? Does Windows not always register a double-click to execute a program? If so, you can force Windows to allow you more time between mouse clicks in a double-click procedure.

1. First, open Windows XP's Mouse Control Panel.

2. On the "Mouse Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box that follows, select the "Buttons" tab.

3. Under "Double-click speed", move the slider further to the right to allow you more time to click your mouse twice in a double-click procedure.

4. Test your double-clicking on the displayed folder.

5. When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.
