Windows XP and the Mouse

Can't Find the Mouse?

SUMMARY: Frequently lose your Windows XP mouse pointer? Make it easier to spot in the future via a Control Panel tweak.

Frequently lose your mouse pointer on the screen? Windows XP has a neat trick whereby pressing the CONTROL key displays a circle around the mouse. This makes it easier to spot it on a complicated background. To turn this feature on:

1. First, open Windows XP's Mouse Control Panel.

2. On the "Mouse Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box that follows, select the "Pointer Options" tab.

3. Check "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key".

4. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.

Return to the Windows XP and the Mouse page.
