Windows XP and Printers - Cancel a Document From Printing

SUMMARY: Remove large print jobs from the Windows XP print queue.

Ever accidentally start printing a document from Windows XP and want it to stop? When you print a document from Windows XP, a printer icon should appear in the right-hand section of the taskbar. Double-click the icon and a new window will appear displaying your print jobs. Right-click on a print job that you want to remove and select "Cancel". Then, verify your decision when the dialog box appears.

Note that in the time it takes for you to do this, some pages of the the print job may have already made it to your printer. However, in the case of large print jobs, it is usually possible to perform this action and cancel the job before it is complete, saving some paper and toner/ink.
