Remove Account Name from the Start Menu

SUMMARY: Clear your name from the Windows XP Start menu.

Normally, the Windows XP Start menu shows your current account name at the top. If you are the only one accessing your machine, or if you just don't want this displayed, do the following:

1) Start Tweak UI (read the tips in MalekTips for downloading / installation information)
2) Click the "Taskbar and Start Menu" link.
3) Uncheck "Show name on Start menu".
4) Clock "OK" to close Tweak UI.
