While the Windows XP DOS prompt lets you change the default foreground and background colors for text, there is a somewhat-hidden feature that lets you select text in a prompt window and change just the color of the selected text. This may be useful for highlighting text in a prompt, then taking a screenshot of the prompt and using it for printouts or for documenting processes. First, to enable this feature:
