Need to perform conversions between two different units of measurement, such as Celsius to Fahrenheit, inches to centimeters, or grams to ounces? Or how about conversions between the same types of measurement systems, such as finding out how many seconds are in a year or how many square feet are in an acre?

The Yahoo! Search engine lets you perform a variety of different measurement conversions with the convert syntax. There are two ways of doing so:

convert AMOUNT UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT

Performs a basic conversion of AMOUNT from UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT to a standard other unit of measurement. Examples:

convert 32 Fahrenheit - converts to Celsius
convert 100 grams - converts to ounces
convert 50 centimeters - converts to inches

Or, you can specify the resulting unit of measurement:

convert AMOUNT UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT RESULTING_UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT

Performs a conversion of AMOUNT from UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT to the RESULTING_UNIT_OF_MEASUREMENT. Examples:

convert 5 years to days
convert 20 quarts to cups
convert 5000 grams to lbs
