ZoneAlarm Pro

Require a Password

SUMMARY: Require a password to change settings in ZoneAlarm Pro.

This tip was written for ZoneAlarm Pro version 6.5.722.000. Instructions may differ for your version.

If several people access your machine, you may want to lock down ZoneAlarm Pro's settings so that only you, the administrator, can make changes. This way others will not be able to decrease security settings to the point it makes the firewall meaningless.

1. Double-click the "ZA" icon on your taskbar.

2. Click "Overview" in the left pane of the "ZoneAlarm Pro" window that appears.

3. Click the "Preferences" tab.

4. Click the "Set Password" button and follow the onscreen prompts.

5. Click the "X" at the top-right to close the ZoneAlarm Pro window.
