| Add an E-Mail Attachment File Type to The Quarantine SUMMARY: Protect your system; quarantine additional potentially-malicious e-mail attachment file types with ZoneAlarm Pro.
By default, ZoneAlarm Pro will quarantine attachment types that it deems suspicions, making it harder to accidentally run such files. However, due to increased amounts of spam and virus attacks on the Internet, combined with application security risks, more potentially-malicious attachment types are being found. If you know of a new attachment type that should be quarantined to prevent you or another user of your computer from accidentally running a potentially-malicious file, do the following:
1. Double-click the "ZA" icon on the Windows Taskbar to bring up ZoneAlarm Pro.
2. When the "ZoneAlarm Pro" window appears, click "E-mail Protection".
3. Click the "Attachments" tab.
4. Click the "Add" button.
5. When the "Add E-mail Attachment Type" dialog appears, type in a helpful description for the attachment type, then enter the attachment file extension, usually 2-3 letters.
For example, you might wish to quarantine .DOC files to help prevent the accidental spread of macro viruses. You would enter:
Description: Microsoft Word Documents
File Extension *.DOC
6. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
7. Click the "Apply" button.
