Turn on Internet Lock During Screensavers

SUMMARY: Learn how to turn on the Internet lock when you leave your computer and a screensaver pops up.

This tip was written for ZoneAlarm version 6.5.731.000. Instructions may differ for your version.

If you'd like, you can have ZoneAlarm's or ZoneAlarm Pro's Internet lock turn on automatically when a screensaver activates. This can be useful if the screensaver tries to access the Internet or if you'd like to hide your PCs screen, lock it down with a password (if your screensaver supports passwords), and lock your Internet connection down, all at once.

1. Double-click the "ZA" icon on your taskbar.

2. On the "ZoneAlarm" or "ZoneAlarm Pro" window that follows, click on the "Program Control" button on the left.

3. Select the "Main" tab.

4. Select "On" underneath "Automatic Lock" and click the "Custom" button.

5. A "Custom Lock Settings" dialog box will appear. Select "Lock when screensaver activates".

6. Click "OK" to close the dialog box and "X" to close the ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro window.

This tip was written for ZoneAlarm Pro 5.x.
