ZoneAlarm Standard And Pro

Clean Out Your Logs

SUMMARY: Browse, print, and/or remove logs files created by ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro

This tip was written for ZoneAlarm version 6.5.731.000. Instructions may differ for your version.

By default, ZoneAlarm / ZoneAlarm Pro keeps log of your Internet activity every day. While these log files may be useful to browse to see what programs are running as well as which software is being blocked against accessing the Internet, you may want to clear out your logs after you use ZoneAlarm / ZoneAlarm Pro for a while to free up room on your hard drive

To view and/or delete logs:

1. Double-click the ZoneAlarm "ZA" icon on your taskbar.

2. The "ZoneAlarm" or "ZoneAlarm Pro" window will appear. Choose "Alerts & Logs" on the left.

3. Select the "Main" tab.

4. Click the "Advanced" button.

5. If you are using ZoneAlarm Pro, click the "Log Control" tab.

6. The "Advanced Alerts and Logs Settings" dialog box will appear. Next to "Log alerts to", click the "Browse" button.

7. From here, you can right-click on log files to "Open" them in Notepad, "Print" them, "Delete" them altogether when you are done viewing them to save space, or you can perform other operations.

8. When done, click "OK" to close the "Advanced Alerts and Logs Settings" dialog box.

9. Click "X" to close the ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro window.
